Maintaining Clean Dentures

Keeping your false teeth clean will make them last longer and fit better. The team at Payson Dental and Orthodontics in Payson, Utah, has put together this information to help you to clean and take care of your dentures.

Dentures need to be cleaned regularly, so pick up a toothbrush if you don’t already have one. To keep the false teeth clean, you’ll need to soak them in a cleanser each night; look for the types that are non-abrasive to limit wear on the dentures. While you may detect that there are some denture adhesives available for purchase, please do not purchase any of these before talking to Dr. Brian Kraft. Adjustments to the denture may foil the need for adhesives.

While false teeth come in a whole host of different varieties, they can generally be categorized by the number of teeth they’ll be replacing: false teeth can be categorized into complete and partial kinds. Complete false teeth are made to replace all of the patient’s pearly whites, and this is usually done when several pearly whites have already been lost and/or the brunt of remaining chompers are severely injured. If many of the patient’s pearly whites are still healthy and in-place, partial false teeth can be utilized to fill the gap.
